Mathorcup Global Mathematical Modeling Challenge 2011
Notice
2011 Mathorcup Global Mathematical Modeling Challenge is co-sponsored by www.mathor.com website and Asia-Pacific mathematical Modeling website. It’s a global undergraduate contest. The first challenge will be held in the mid of the May 2011. The notification for competitions is here as follows.
Contest Description:
2011 Mathorcup Global Mathematical modeling Challenge is a new technology event for the college students. It provide a "free", "open", "fair" challenge ring for the mathematical modeling enthusiasts all around the world. The aim of competition is: training students to identify problems, analyze problems and solve the problem in the logical thinking; improve their ability for mathematical modeling and computer technology, especially for the comprehensive ability to solve practical problems. We encourage the majority of college students actively participate in this extracurricular science and technology competition.
Undergraduate are in the most innovative period of their age, At this period, their ability of learning and habit of thinking are the most important thing for undergraduates. Participating in Challenge can promote students’ ability of learning new knowledge, and the ability of logical thinking. That’s what is needed in their future working. We hope the students will participate in the challenge actively, showing your enthusiastic, innovative, cooperative style. We will also invite the students from United States, Singapore and etc. to our challenge.
According to the survey for the members of our School Garden mathematical modeling website who participated in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling, some of them are now in Sina, Tencent, Baidu, and other major Internet companies. Through the mathematical modeling contest, students have the ability to use the computer software to solve the problem in the society. Those abilities are what many famous companies attach great importance to. Other members of the excellent contest participates have been admitted to the Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other famous universities to study for the master degree & PHD. Schoolyard Mathematical Modeling Website will invite them to communicate and share their ideas and experience recently.
Most of the teachers of Mathorcup Global Challenge committee in Mathematical modeling had the experience at participating the MCM/ICM contest and winning the prizes. Now they are the scholars and experts in the mathematical modeling area. Most of them have the experience at teaching abroad, and to be the visiting scholars abroad. They attended many high level international conference, research and acquire the hot and frontline subject in the science and technology area.
